RESTAURANT MAUKAS

Restaurant MAUKAS, located on Vuorimiehentie 5 in Espoo Otaniemi has room for 130 customers and serves home-made breakfast, lunch and caterings made with fresh ingredients. We prefer organic, domestic and locally produced ingredients and use MSC-labelled fish only. The most important values of the family-owned company are quality, sustainable development and employee well-being. In daily operations the customer always comes first. Our service is individual and is constantly being developed based on customer feedback and wishes.

Breakfast is served on working days between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. For breakfast you can find self-baked organic rolls and gluten free rolls with fresh vegetables& selection of cheese &cutlers, organic porridge, juice, organic milk, organic coffee an organic tea.

You can enjoy lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. The buffet lunch includes a rich and fresh salad table, soup, vegetarian and meat/fish dishes, a small sweet of the day and coffee/tea. A vegan option with small sweet of the day is also available daily. If you have a more challenging special diet, let us know your wishes in advance, and we will prepare a full lunch for you. You can also buy soup, portion salad, salad table or vegetarian lunch at a cheaper price. And there is always the take away option. We prepare the food ourselves.

Our professional bakers and patissiers bake our organic bread rolls, organic yeast-free 100% rye bread and gluten-free rolls for breakfast, lunch and caterings.

Our filter coffee is the excellent organic Gran Palomar from the family company Cafetoria and a selection of organic tea s fromClipper.

 

A satisfied customer is a matter of honor for us therefore your feedback is of primary importance. Feel free to tell us your opinions, your wishes, give us twigs and roses, share development suggestions. All of this can be done either by nudging the staff by the sleeve, writing in the restaurants feedback book or sending an email to info@mau-kas.fi 

Acceptable payment methods are cash, VISA and Mastercard, Eazybreak, ePassi, Edenred-cards, vouchers and mobile payments as well as SmartumPay and Smartum vouchers.

We welcome also cats and dogs to our restaurant. Please, keep the furry customer on leash.  :)

Catering

For meetings and events, our professional bakers and patissiers prepare savory and sweet treats for all preferences. Our cakes have been praised as the best in Espoo. 

You can get also salad, warm dish or just coffee&filled bread rolls for small or bigger events.

Reservations

You can reserve a table or cabinet for lunch at the Vuorimiehentie restaurant: info@mau-kas.fi. We do not charge extra for table reservations, but you must be there exactly when the reservation starts. Only a limited number of table reservations are taken for the day, so that there is plenty of space for our customers who visit our restaurant without a reservation. Each cabinet can accommodate 24 diners, and the fixed price for an hour's lunch reservation per cabinet is €280, including participants' lunches, max 24/cabinet. We have two cabinets.

Operating in accordance with sustainable development in our restaurants

In our daily operations & activities, we strive to burden the environment as little as possible and to minimize all the food waste. We always use ingredients from start to finish: bread left over from lunch is made into croutons, broccoli stalks are used in puree soups, and the left over from vegetables have been given to small farms we know to feed animals. Used cooking oil is collected and passed on so that biofuel can be produced from it. In addition to bio and mixed waste, we also recycle plastics, glass, cardboard and metals separately.

All of our food is prepared from fresh ingredients on site, and taking into account the harvest seasons. In our kitchen, the electrical appliances are not turned on for nothing and the water is not drained except when necessary. All the detergents we use are nature-friendly and our work clothes are organic cotton.
